복음으로 거룩하고 조화롭고 행복한 공동체

영국 중부 버밍엄 지역은 영국의 제 2의 도시로써 전체 한인이 대략 500명 이상 거주하여 한인 이민 사회의 중심적 역할을 감당하고 있으며, 한인 공동체를 통해 영국 교회에도 적지 않게 영향력을 드러내고 있습니다. 대학으로는 버밍엄 대학과 아스톤 대학, BCU, UCB대 그리고 영어 어학 코스인 South & City College, Brass House 등이 있으며 많은 숫자의 한인들이 대학에서 공부하고 있습니다. 특히 버밍엄 대학은 의대, 역사, 영어 교육, 비지니스 등이 아스톤 대학은 행정, 금융학, 약학, 광학과 등이 유명 학과 들로 잘 알려져 있습니다.

특히 이곳 버밍엄은 다 민족 유럽권, 아시아(중국, 일본, 태국, 홍콩, 말레이시아, 필리핀 등)와 중동, 아프리카 문화권에 있는 인종들이 학업과 사업, 피난민과 이민의 목적으로 가정을 이루며 스스로 자민족 문화권을 형성하여 함께 더불어 살아가고 있습니다. 그렇기 때문에 버밍엄 지역은 이 곳에 들어 온 많은 타민족들에게 복음을 전해야 할 선교지 임을 간과 할 수 없습니다.

버밍엄 사랑의 교회는 어느 종족과 민족이든 교회에 들어와 주의 말씀을 들으며, 선교에 대한 비전과 이 땅에 이미 도래한 하나님의 나라를 마음껏 누리기를 소망해 보면서 비록 피부 색깔과 문화는 많은 차이가 있고 다르지만, 그 모든 것을 뛰어 넘게 하시는 하나님의 말씀과 주님의 십자가의 사랑으로 한 가족임을 느끼는 그런 공동체로 세워가기를 소망하고 있습니다. 더불어 하나님이 원하시는 복음으로 거룩하고 조화롭고 행복한 공동체를 온 성도가 함께 섬겨가는 것이 버밍엄 사랑의 교회에 주신 하나님의 마음입니다.

Birmingham SaRang Korean Church는 성경적 교회관을 따르며(엡1:23, 마16:18-19) 주님의 남은 사역을 감당하도록 주님으로부터 위임 받은 유일한 곳입니다. 교회의 머리는 주님이시고, 교회는 주님의 몸이며 교회를 통해서만 하나님의 뜻이 세상에 알려지고, 하나님의 역사가 이 땅 가운데 일어남을 확신하는 교회입니다. 한 마디로 교회는 이 땅 가운데 있는 하나님의 나라이며 하나님의 소망입니다. 특히 버밍엄 사랑의 교회에서 나누고 있는 새 생명 훈련, 제자 훈련, 말씀 공부, 교리, 선교 훈련등을 통해 내가 죄인 됨을 깨닫고, 주를 사랑하듯 서로 사랑하며, 하나님을 영화롭게 해 드리는 것이 유일한 우리들의 삶의 최종 목표인 것을 알고 누리도록 협력하는 공동체입니다.

A Holy, Harmonious and Happy community with the Gospel

The city of Birmingham, in central England, is the second largest city in the UK, with more than a population of 500 Koreans. There is a huge Korean immigrant community and a large number of Koreans studying at the universities and colleges in Birmingham. The many universities and colleges in Birmingham include the University of Birmingham, Aston University, Birmingham City University, University College Birmingham, South & City College, Brasshouse Languages etc. In particular, University of Birmingham is well known for its medical school, History, English Education, and Business; Aston University is well-known for its departments of Public Administration, Finance, Pharmacy, and Ophthalmology.

Birmingham is well known for their diverse culture, with a population of multi-ethnic Europeans, Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Hong Kongers, Malaysians, Filipinos etc.), Middle Eastern and Africans, for the purpose of study, business, refuge and immigration. Therefore, it cannot be overlooked that the city of Birmingham is a missionary field where the gospel must be preached to many other people who reside in the area.

Birmingham SaRang Korean Church hopes to create a family-like community of believers through the Word of God and the love of the Lord's cross, regardless of their background, who have a shared vision of ministry and the Kingdom of God that has already arrived on this earth. For it is the heart of God that wants Birmingham SaRang Korean Church to be a community that serves each other in a holy, harmonious, and happy community with the gospel together.

Birmingham SaRang Korean Church follows the biblical church view (Ephesians 1:23, Matthew 16:18-19) and is a place entrusted by the Lord, to handle the rest of His ministry. The head of this church is the Lord, and the church is the body of the Lord. We are a church that is certain that only through the church will God's will be known to the world and God's work will take place in this land. Essentially, the church is God's kingdom in the midst of this earth and God's hope. Birmingham SaRang Korean Church's goal is to establish a community where we can realise that we are sinners, whilst we love the Lord and each other as we love the Lord, glorify God, through New Life Training, Discipleship Training, Bible study, doctrine and missionary training at Birmingham SaRang Korean Church.
